12 Places in Atlanta for your Birthday Dinner

IMG_4863.jpeg

IF YOU KNO’ YOU BAD AND IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY STAND UP!

Birthdays, you love to hate them but also can’t hate them entirely because it is a whole day dedicated to you, yourself and yourself alone. Are we mad about it? NOPE. Hungrygirls are ALL about that self-love train in 2019. Self-love that usually turns into SELF-INDULGENCE and later cellulite, blah, blah.

Let’s be real here though, the highlight of birthdays are the double D’s. DINNER and DESSERT. So, one of our most frequently asked question is, where should I go eat?

Maybe you are a steakhouse meat master?

A pasta impasta?

An eda-mami?

However you like to celebrate your birthday, let’s cut the cake and get right to it.

Put a fork in house and give us all the table sides. NO sharing. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: you take your wife to Bone’s and your hooker to Hal’s.

Bone’s : From our head to our toes we will always swear by Bone’s. There is no way around it. Bones knows how to make a mean steak and serve some WHOPPING sides to match. The perfect place for a fancy-shmancy birthday swaray, if we do say. Don’t forget to top off your night with a ‘tini (blue cheese olives only) & their decadent Mountain High Pie (a Bone’s tradition).

Hal’s : Hal’s for your pals! This Atlanta steakhouse is the spot for a larger crowd that is ready to chow-down. The vibe here is a little more lively, so you guys can get as reckless as you want. So, grab hold of that oversized red wine glass and cheers as many times as you please, you birthday babe.

Il Localino : We now declare Il Localino as the PASTA PALACE fit for any birthday king or queen. This family owned joint always has the perfect playlist and energy that might even make Grandma get up and dance. We will be honest with you for a moment - we have never left Il Localino without taking 7 Limoncello shots and not having had the best night of our lives. Start here and you don’t know where the night may take you.

O-Ku: You’ve heard us once, you’ve heard us a million times. GUYS, WE WOULD PAY RENT AT O-KU IF WE WERE ALLOWED OKAY . This is our go-to sushi spot in Atlanta, no questions asked. The new patio is the place to be, especially with warmer months on the horizon! Could be a date night birthday dinner or a hoedown throw down. Your choice honey.

UMI: Sushi, but make it SWANKY. UMI makes us feel boujee and important, even though we are far from it. Make reservations way in advance and save room for the grand finale! Chef Ito & Lisa have outdone themselves with chocolate ball + mallet desert (is that what you call it idk?!) Leave your B-DAY dinner with the perfect boomerang for all to be jealous of. Don’t forget to go to the bathroom (yes go to the bathroom) and clean you birthday parts with their lovely bidet hehe.

Barcelona : Wine Bar, Wine Bar, what would we do without you? If you are from Atlanta, we hope by now you have heard of Barcelona Wine Bar. Located in Inman Park and on the Westside, this wine bar is definitely an entertainment hot spot for all the basic betches. Big crowd or table for two? Barcelona has you covered. Also, their tapas are something worth TALKIN’ ABOUT.

New Realm Brewing : Brews, views, and NOOD PULLS. New Realm’s beltline location is sure to get the birthday juices flowin’ as it sits right in the heart of ATL near Ponce City Market. Great for entertaining a birthday crowd that’s looking for a drank or two and some trendy bar eats.

Hungrygirl tip: ORDER THE MAC N’ CHEESE OR NEVER TALK TO US AGAIN.

Iberian Pig : WHO DIGS THE PIG? The Iberian Pig has long been a Decatur player, but is venturing to Buckhead territory COME SPRING! HUNGRY GIRLS UNITE! We love Iberian Pig and think you guys should meat ;) Known for their specialty meats and cheeses, one birthday queen can simply not go wrong.

Eclipse Di Luna: TAP THAT, TAP OUT, OR ORDER THE TAPAS. Eclipse Di Luna is an incredibly fun place to celebrate a birthday with a big ole crowd. With 2 locations in Dunwoody and Buckhead, they have live music, salsa Thursdays, and drinks that never quit flowing. Perfect for anyone looking to take FULL advantage of their birthday and great service to accommodate.

Yebo Ski Haus: NEWS FLASH: You CAN have it all in an Atlanta restaurant. Yebo takes transformation Tuesday to a whole other level. This Buckhead beauty serves South African flavors fused with American cuisine, but presents itself in a different light. Year round it has a beach house vibe, but TRANSFORMS INTO THE SKI LODGE OF OUR DREAMS COME WINTER. Best part: there is a SHOT SKI, so you can take one back before the family birthday dinner.

Cape Dutch : Another ode to South African food is Cape Dutch! This dime has been in the ATL food scene for four years now and needs to be on your birthday radar. The interior is a sight to see in and of itself (thank you Wolf Design Group - you are sexy). Extremely posh, yet very unique. There is even a fireplace to keep you winter birthday babies cozy and snug. AND there is a giant sign giving ode to “Gone With The Wind’s” Rhett Butler’s famous saying “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.” Go ahead and instagram that and bottoms up.
